XI THETA PSI firmly repudiates actions and statements that negate the concepts of our Venerated Virtues of PSI.

Motto

Our open motto, "Education for Survival" was chosen to represent what was instilled in them by their elders.  The Founders' were either first generation college students or first generation Americans citizens.  During the first official meeting the topic of a motto was up for discussion. The discussion consisted of each brother petitioning their proposed mottos to no success. The mottos petitioned did not capture the spirit of the Fraternity.

During a reading of the minutes, it was realized that the common theme amongst the proposals was eduction is key. This discovery immediately sparked another conversation amongst the Founders. They all agreed that as a Latino, formal education is a personal investment that opens the doors of opportunity in the professional world and that cultural education is a group investment that opens the doors for personal and professional fellowship, building bonds of trust, and creating a legacy within the Fraternity. The meeting closed with "Education for Survival" being unanimously voted as the Fraternity's official open motto.

The motto also serves as our perpetual commitment towards mental health and cultural awareness. Not only amongst our brotherhood, but within the college communities we occupy and its surrounding underserved neighborhoods we serve.
